Lobelia
Perfect for containers and baskets for summer colour Lobelia is a half hardy annual that comes in a variety of colours, traditionally purple, blue and white.
For trailing plants try growing ‘Sapphire’ with beautiful blue blooms, and for edging grow ‘Mrs Clibran’ for deep blue flowers with a white ‘eye’.
Seed should be sown undercover between January and March in trays of John Innes Seed Sowing Compost. Keep warm, around 15-20c (60-70f). When large enough to handle transplant to pots of potting compost. It is easier to transplant clumps than individual plants.
Once seedlings are established gradually acclimatise to outside conditions for several weeks before planting out after the risk of frost has passed.
Feed plants regularly during summer using Nutri Plant Feed. Plant will flower between July and September
