Asparagus Wrapped in Parma Ham

Make the most of the British asparagus season by creating these little bundles of joy to be gobbled up by guests, your family or just by yourself, hot from the oven!
Serves 4 as a starter (or one greedy person!)
Ingredients:
  • 12 asparagus spears (or more if they are skinny)
  • 12 slices of Parma Ham
  • Extra virgin olive oil
  • A wedge of Parmesan cheese
  • Black pepper

Step 1

Preheat an oven to 200C (400F), gas mark 6.
Grab a saucepan and fill with water, bring it to the boil and plunge in the asparagus spears.
Cook until tender (about 4-5 mins).

Step 2

Drain the asparagus spears.
Wrap each spear in a slice of Parma Ham and place into a baking dish.
Drizzle with olive oil and cook in the oven until the Parma Ham crisps up.

Step 3

Arrange onto plates and top with plenty of grated Parmesan cheese and black pepper.
