How to Grow Chives

Chives are a handy herb to have in the garden and have many uses in the kitchen.

Use scattered on baked potatoes, in cheese and egg dishes or sprinkled over a salad.

Chive seeds can be sown in March and provided the plants are divided every 3 to 4 years, will continue to grow well in the same spot in the garden

From May to October stems can be cut for their mild onion flavour, and any flowers can also be used chopped for decoration and a mild flavour.
