Stockists

J. Arthur Bower’s Rose, Tree & Shrub Compost contains a rich mixture of essential nutrients and trace elements to help the plant establish itself. It has enhanced magnesium levels to keep roses healthy and added bonemeal to encourage strong root growth and better plant development.

This open-textured compost allows essential air movement, necessary for strong root development whilst also providing ideal water retaining properties. The compost will feed for 8 to 12 weeks. After that we recommend feeding roses with rose food and shrubs, conifers and trees alternately with bonemeal and either growmore or fish, blood & bone.

How to use

Select a position that gives your plant plenty of space to grow. Dig a hole twice as wide as the container or root system and about 8cm (3") deeper. Water the container well, carefully remove the plant and place into the hole. For bare-rooted plants, remove the net or plastic before planting in the hole. Tall plants should be supported with a stake. Fill between the roots with the compost, making sure no air is trapped. Firm gently, then water thoroughly around the plant base. Water repeatedly especially during dry spells, until the plant is established.
