How to Stop Squirrels in their Tracks!

If squirrels are taking over your garden, this blog is for you!

It can be incredibly frustrating to look out your kitchen window and watch a plucky squirrel snaffling down all the seed you put out for birds.

Squirrels can be a real problem at all times of year, but in particular the autumn, when they are gathering supplies for the upcoming cold winter period.

While they can put on an acrobatic display that’s quite charming to watch, if they take away food from your birds it’s time to take action!

Here are some hints and tips on how to get the better of these small, dexterous thieves:

  • Place feeders well away from trees or anything a squirrel could climb
  • Fix baffles or sloping discs on to dining stations which the squirrels will slide off before reaching the feeder
  • Invest in a squirrel proof feeder, such as the Peckish Squirrel Proof Peanut Feeder and the Peckish Squirrel Proof Seed Feeder.
