How often should you feed birds?
Once you start feeding, birds will become dependent on you, particularly during the cold winter months.
It's best to put out food at least once a day, taking care to provide food at the same time, so the birds know when to travel to your garden. A good way to remember to put out food at the same time each day is to develop a habit, such as providing food just after you have breakfast yourself, or during the coffee break of your favourite daily radio or TV show!
During the cold winter months, it's best to up your feeding routines to twice a day. Once first thing in the morning, to help birds replemish the energy they have lost overnight and again, just before dusk to give them a welcome boost before the cold night. Make sure you choose something with a high fat content, such as our Peckish Winter Warmer Seed Mix, or our Peckish Complete All Seasons Energy Balls.
