Trainee Technical Sales Manager – Sinclair Professional

We have an exciting opportunity for a Trainee Technical Sales Manager to join our Sinclair Professionals portfolio, a key division within the Westland Group. This role offers the perfect stepping stone into the horticultural industry for ambitious individuals who are eager to develop their technical and sales skills.
As a Trainee Technical Sales Manager, you will receive comprehensive in-house training, mentorship, and support through a series of hands-on workshops designed to equip you with both technical expertise and sales strategies. You will work closely with our experienced team and develop an in-depth understanding of our horticultural products and solutions. Over time, you will build relationships with customers, providing them with the best advice and support for their plant care and horticultural needs.
Trainee Technical Sales Manager – Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Develop a solid understanding of our horticultural products, including technical specifications and applications.
- Assist the sales team in identifying and targeting potential customers within the horticulture sector.
- Support existing clients with product queries, offering advice on plant care and product use.
- Work alongside the marketing and technical teams to develop tailored solutions for clients.
- Attend industry events, exhibitions, and workshops to stay updated on the latest horticultural trends and innovations.
- Progress towards taking full ownership of a sales territory, developing client relationships and managing accounts.
Qualifications:
- Graduate/Diploma in Horticulture or Soil/Plant Science / Turf / Agri
Required Skills:
- Experience in Horticulture – this could be garden centres, growing, breeding etc
- Current driving licence and the availability and willingness to travel
- Ideally Basis and Facts qualified or willingness to work towards this

- Passionate about horticulture and plants.
- Eager to learn and develop technical knowledge in the horticultural sector.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships.
- Ambitious, with a desire to progress into a technical sales role.
- A self-starter with a positive, can-do attitude.
Location:
North-West Could be based Lancashire / Cumbria / Cheshire but willingness to travel is essential
