Tips & Advice:
Top Tips
Sow this wildflower seed mix in the autumn and overwinter to keep bare soil covered and weed free in early spring. Once they reach 30cm, cut down and dig in, allowing the green matter to break down for several weeks before replanting with vegetables or flowers for the new season. Water daily, preferably in the evening until seedlings appear, and then as required depending on weather conditions. Protect young plants from pests, particularly slugs.
Safety Advice
Contents may vary according to availability. Store in a cool, dry, frost-free place, away from children, pets and foodstuffs. Wash hands after use. Use contents within season of purchase. Children and pets need not be excluded from treated areas. Contents may settle and segregate during transit. Shake well before application.
How to Use Green Manure
1. Sow over bare soil in the veg garden after harvesting crops and allow to grow to 30cm before cutting dow and digging into the soil. 2. Earthworms will pull the green matter down under the soil and it will naturally break down. 3. Avoid allowing the plants to set seed, ensuring that the growth is still soft as it will break down more easily when dug into the soil.
Preparing the area for sowing
1. Remove any large stones and weeds. 2. Dig over soil and level out. 3. If soil is very dry, water 24 hours before sowing.
Sowing Seeds
1. Shake the box well before use. 2. TO ensure even coverage, sow in a criss-cross pattern. 3. Firm seeds down onto soil and gently water them.
