Sowing Time

  • February – April

 

Flowering Time

  • July – October

 

Sowing Indoors

  • Almost fill a seed tray with moist seed compost
  • Sow seeds thinly over the surface, and lightly cover them with a little more compost
  • Place in the warmth 15-20°C (60-70°F), and keep moist

 

Growing On

  • Keep seedlings in a light position, but shade from direct sunlight
  • When large enough to handle, transplant 5cm (2in) apart into trays of potting compost, or individually to 8cm (3in) post of compost

 

Hardening Off/Planting Out

  • Gradually accustom to outdoor conditions 2-3 weeks before planting out
  • Avoid frosts
  • Plant out 45cm (18in) apart

 

Aftercare

  • Remove dead flower heads to encourage further flowers
