Busy Lizzies: How to grow

Busy Lizzies provide a mass of vibrant colour, with many varieties available such as ‘Shimmer Rose’.

Sow Busy Lizzie seeds from February to April in Gro-Sure Seed & Cutting Compost in the greenhouse or on a kitchen windowsill.

Harden off throughout May and plant out once all risk of frost has passed.

Busy Lizzies enjoy sun or partial shade and require well drained soil.

If planting in borders incorporate organic matter such as Westland Soil Conditioner first. Plants will also thrive in pots or hanging baskets.

Protect your plants with a reliable slug killer, such as Eraza Slug and Snail Killer.

Feed throughout the season with Gro-Sure All Purpose Plant Food. Alternatively, mix half a handful of Gro-Sure Planting Magic into the planting hole for stronger, healthier plants.

Dead head regularly to encourage prolonged flowering.
