How to Grow Geraniums

Geraniums are a classic gardener’s favourite and are easy to grow from seed.  Popular varieties include ‘Simply Red’ and ‘Sprite’ for masses of blooms all summer long.

When to Sow

Sow geranium seeds under cover January to March in Gro-Sure Seed & Cutting Compost.

How to Sow

Harden off throughout May and plant out once all risk of frost has passed.

Plant out in well-drained soil in a sunny or lightly shaded spot. Incorporate organic matter such as Westland Soil Conditioner first to improve soil structure and boost nutrient levels.

Feed throughout the season with Gro-Sure All Purpose Plant Food.

Dead head regularly to encourage prolonged flowering.
