How to Grow Wallflowers

Grown as hardy biennials, Wallflowers flower from March to May and are seen as a real harbinger of spring and are available in a wide variety of colours.

When to Sow

Sow seeds directly from April to July

How to Sow

Sow into shallow, pre-watered rows. Thin seedlings as necessary. Young plants can then be transplanted to their final positions in late summer or early autumn and to encourage bushy growth pinch out the growing tip when plants are around 15cm (6in) tall.

Popular varieties include ‘Wallflower Bedding Mix’ for a heady fragrance and vibrant colours.
