Westland Horticulture is looking to appoint a Management Accountant to join our Growing Media Division. Reporting to the Divisional Financial Controller, this role is central to the financial performance of the division, with responsibility for day-to-day financial reporting, robust cost control, and the production of accurate, timely management accounts.

This is a hands-on, commercially focused role, ideal for a newly or recently qualified accountant looking to build their experience in a fast-paced FMCG/manufacturing environment. You’ll work closely with operations, procurement, and senior stakeholders to challenge costs, support decision-making, and help drive continuous improvement across the division.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day financial reporting and financial operations for the Growing Media division
• Maintain and develop a strong financial control environment
• Full responsibility for the General Ledger relating to the division
• Review and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) and standard costings within D365
• Partner with operations and procurement to cost new products and assess margin viability
• Produce monthly gross margin reporting with full variance analysis
• Prepare monthly management accounts packs for Board review
• Review and enhance reporting to support effective management decision-making
• Support the development of the division’s annual budget in collaboration with the Site Finance Controller
• Drive cost improvement initiatives across the division

About you

• You will be a highly motivated and adaptable finance professional who enjoys working in a dynamic, operationally focused environment.
• Essential experience and skills:
• Newly or recently qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA)
• Experience within a manufacturing or FMCG environment (preferred)
• Strong Excel skills (intermediate to advanced level)
• Experience using Microsoft Dynamics 365 (essential)
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Proven ability to work to tight deadlines and manage competing priorities
• A proactive, driven mindset with the confidence to challenge and improve existing processes

Hours of Work:

Monday to Friday 9am to 5.30pm
