Bug Boxes

Provide a snug, safe place for ladybirds, solitary bees, lacewings and other beneficial insects in your garden by putting out a bug box. These insects are essential for gardeners as they do much to pollinate our plants and flowers and also help to deter garden pests.

Building your own bug hotel can be fun, but it’s also great for encouraging bugs into your garden which are beneficial to other wildlife and fun to watch! They also act as a food source for small animals such as hedgehogs, and of course some bird species such as Robins.

Make sure you place it in a sheltered spot in the garden, away from direct sunlight. But don’t hide it too well, or the bugs won’t be able to find it!
