Sowing Indoors
Almost fill a seed tray with moist seed compost. Sow seeds thinly over the surface, and lightly cover them with a little more compost. Place in the warmth (10-15c) and keep moist.
Growing On
When seedlings are large enough to handle, transplant into 5cm (2in) pots filled with potting compost and grow on.
Planting Out
Gradually accustom plants to outside conditions for 2-3 weeks before planting out onto flat land (not in trenches) when all risk of frost has passed.
Growing Tips
Plant in a block formation to assist blanching.
