How to Grow Petunias

Petunias are ideal for hanging baskets, containers and as ground cover and can be chosen in a specific colour such as ‘White Mirage’ or in an array of colours like ‘Celebrity Mix.’

When to Sow

February to April under glass.

How to Sow

Sow petunia seeds in trays of Gro-Sure Seed & Cutting Compost

Harden off throughout May and plant out once all risk of frost has passed.

Petunias enjoy well drained soil, preferably sandy, in a sunny spot.

If planting in borders, incorporate organic matter such as Soil Conditioner first.

Plants will also thrive in pots or hanging baskets using Westland Basket & Container Compost

Care

Feed throughout the season with Westland Boost

Dead head regularly to encourage prolonged flowering.

Protect from slug damage using Growing Success Advanced Slug Killer if grown in pots.
