Petunias: How to grow

Petunias are ideal for hanging baskets, containers and as ground cover and can be chosen in a specific colour such as ‘Purple Wave’ or in an array of colours like ‘Celebrity Mix.’

Sow petunia seeds in trays of Gro-Sure Seed & Cutting Compost in February to April under glass.

Harden off throughout May and plant out once all risk of frost has passed.

Petunias enjoy well drained soil, preferably sandy, in a sunny spot.

If planting in borders, incorporate organic matter such as Soil Conditioner first.

Plants will also thrive in pots or hanging baskets using Gro-Sure Container & Basket Compost.

Feed throughout the season with Gro-Sure All Purpose Plant Food

Dead head regularly to encourage prolonged flowering.

Protect from slug damage using Growing Success Advanced Slug Killer if grown in pots.
