How to make a cinnamon and orange Christmas decoration

Nothing says Christmas quite like oranges and spices! That’s why we’ve put together a guide on how to make a cinnamon and orange Christmas decoration. If you fancy adding an extra homemade touch, you can cut fresh orange slices and allow them to dry out on a low heat in the oven or over a range. Not only does it look lovely, but there’ll be a wonderful fragrance in the air too. What’s not to love? Watch the full video here, or follow our step-by-step guide below:

You will need…

Scissors

Jute twine

1 dried orange slice

3 cinnamon sticks

A chopstick

Step 1

Use the chopstick to poke a clear hole through the top of the orange slice, where the flesh and rind meet.

Step 2

Cut 10cm of twine. Thread one end through the hole and then create a hanging loop by securing the two ends together.

Step 3

Use the chopstick to poke a clear hole through the opposite end of the orange slice.

Step 4

Cut 30cm of twine. Thread through until the orange slice is in the middle. Then, knot the two ends of twine securely around the orange slice.

Step 5

Hold the three cinnamon sticks together. Then, use the two free lengths of twine to wrap around them. Secure tightly, trimming excess if necessary.

Hang your cinnamon and orange Christmas decoration!
