Home Cooked Crisps

A simple tasty treat that is much better for you than anything you could buy in the shop!

Fill a big bowl with these and sprinkle whatever topping your fancy – classic sea salt, or get creative with cayenne pepper, onion powder or even finely grated Parmasan.

Once completely cool, these will last for a few days in an airproof container.

Serves 2

Ingredients

  • 2/3 large potatoes (how to grow potatoes)
  • Olive oil
  • Sea salt

Step 1

Pre-heat the oven to 200C/400F (Gas Mark 6).

Clean potatoes and dry thoroughly.

Use a potato peeler to cut very fine discs of potato.

Step 2

Put a layer of greaseproof paper onto a baking sheet and pop the potato discs on top, taking care not to overlap them.

Bake for 15-30 mins, keeping a careful eye on them. You want them to crisp up, but not to burn.

Step 3

Take out of the oven and leave to cool for a few minutes before adding your flavour combinations (we love a sprinkling of sea salt!)

Eat now, or store in an airproof container for a few days.
