Rising Stars Finalists present at the GCA!

Five finalists of the Garden Centre Association (GCA) & Westland Rising Stars Programme will be presenting at the GCA conference in Stratford-Upon-Avon on Monday 22 January. The names of the finalists are:

  1. Jayne Scott – Klondyke Daleside Garden Centre
  2. Sarah Postlethwaite – Fron Goch Garden Centre
  3. Emma Blackmore – Bents Garden Centre
  4. Andreea Robertson – Garden Wise Garden Centre
  5. Samantha Davis – Haskins Garden Centre

The Rising Stars Programme, run by Westland Horticulture and supported by the GCA has been running since 2009 and has had over 200 garden centre staff through the programme. Its aim is to develop the best new talent in the garden centre industry through a year-long training scheme. Keith Nicholson, Marketing Director for Westland said: “Westland Rising Stars programme recognises and promotes the best talent in our garden centre retail industry. Westland has continued to invest heavily in training for garden staff as bringing in fresh ideas and creativity is critical for our industry. This is why will continue to support the Rising Stars Programme”.

Over the year, each finalist has made a positive, significant impact in their garden centre and each will present the initiative they have implemented to drive both sales and revenue in their departments. Once the five finalists have presented their initiatives, the overall winner will then be chosen by conference delegates.

Keep a look out on our Facebook Page for the announcement of the winner on Tuesday 23 January!
