Benefits of Organic Gardening

Growing vegetables, fruits, and flowers organically is the most natural way of gardening, delivering great benefits that make you and your garden feel good.

IMPROVES SOILS HEALTH

  • Soil is the foundation of organic gardening by providing a medium for plant growth, but it is a living ecosystem that sustains healthy plants, supports biodiversity, and drives natural nutrient cycle.

PROMOTES PLANT HEALTH

  • Organic gardening encourages the use of natural techniques that help plants develop their own defences, supporting overall plant health.

ATTRACTS BIODIVERSITY

  • Using natural methods like companion planting helps encourage more biodiversity in your garden, attracting a variety of beneficial insects like pollinators or predatory insects that feed on pests.

BEFORE YOU BEGIN

Rework the compost between your hands to allow it to regain its intended texture.

PLANTING OUT

  1. Dig a hole twice the depth and diameter of the roots and add a layer of compost.
  2. Place your plant in the hole, fill any gaps with compost, and then water.

CREATE A RAISED BED

Our 3 layer plan provides the optimum drainage, nutrients, and moisture retention:

  1. Begin with a 2-3” layer of wood or bark chips to maximise drainage.
  2. Then add a 2-3” layer of farmyard manure for extra nutrients.
  3. Finally, fill the bed up with Organic Gold Rich Compost to create a fertile, free-draining growing area.

PLANTING IN CONTAINERS

  1. Choose a container with drainage holes and fill with compost.
  2. Place the plant into a container, fill in any gaps with compost, firm down, and then water.
